The Cranbrook United Prayer Chain
Cranbrook United Church believes in the power of prayer and that prayer fellowship of women and men that this is an important ministry. Each Sunday, after we acknowledge our “Prayers of the People”, those requests then go to this group and your minister who we are committed to continue to prayer throughout the week for these people.
C0ngregational Care Committee
Here is a group of women (men are welcome too) who are committed to the compassionate side of service to God as well as the gastronomic.
CCC co-ordinates visitation of shut-ins, hospital patients and residents of local Care homes. These ladies also organize the Sunday morning coffee, and any food oriented events that are not specifically in the UCW (United Church Women) ‘s jurisdiction.
We welcome all the help we can get. So if you feel drawn to any of these worthwhile activities, please call the Church office (250-426-2022) and our secretary will direct you to the right person.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Cranbrook United Church has been providing Prayer Shawls that are made up by knitters in our church. These shawls are blessed by the congregation, led by the minister. They are then given to people in need, people going through a hard time. For example shawls have been shared with new mothers, someone recovering from surgery, someone in palliative care. Whomever you see as someone in need of comfort and God’s blessing, we have a beautiful knitted or crocheted shawl to help them remember they are not alone.
